Resort to Participate in National January Learn to Ski & Snowboard Month

LINCOLN, NH (Dec. 29, 2015) – Learning to ski or snowboard at Loon Mountain Resort this winter is easier and more exciting than ever. In addition to participating in the nationwide Learn to Ski & Snowboard Month in January, the resort has launched its new First Class Beginner’s Weekends, two-day learning experiences that equip beginners with all the skills – and the gear – they need to become lifelong skiers.

NEW First Class Beginner’s Weekends

This winter, beginners who enroll in a new First Class Beginner’s Weekend will be treated to an immersive weekend-long learning experience that includes their own FREE pair of HEAD skis, bindings and boots and use of a private slopeside learning lounge. Coaches will ensure the proper fit of learners’ boots and gear to get them started off on the right foot.

“A weekend-long program gives beginners a solid foundation to enjoy a lifelong sport, and our coaches help smooth the way,” said Rob Bevier, Loon’s Ski & Snowboard School director. “And, since proper boot fit is so important for a positive learning experience and can often be overlooked, we made sure to incorporate it here.”

Participants will build camaraderie on and off the mountain as they spend the weekend with coaches and others in the program. In addition to the equipment and instruction, the program also includes morning coffee and lunch each day, plus an après gathering at the end of the first day, so participants can share their experiences and get a taste of the winter sports lifestyle.

First Class Beginner’s Weekends are scheduled for January 9-10; January 30-31; March 5-6; and March 19-20. This program is for beginners ages 13 and up, space is limited, and advance reservations are required. More information can be found at LoonMtn.com and reservations can be made by calling 1-800-229-LOON.

Learner’s Club Card

Beginners who can’t commit to an entire weekend will receive a Learner’s Passport when they complete a Learn-to-Ski or Snowboard package, which includes novice lift ticket, lesson and equipment rentals. When they return and complete a second package, their Passport will be upgraded to a Learner’s Club Card, which entitles them to free use of rental equipment at Loon all season long, and savings of up to $25 a day on lift tickets for the rest of the season, plus other resort savings.
