CLARKSBURG, Mass. (Jan. 12, 2016) – One of the key components of any snowmobile is its rubber track. It provides flotation over the white gold we call snow, and directly connects the power under our hoods to the trail below.

Within the far-reaching snowmobile industry, one name stands above the rest when it comes to manufacturing tracks. Officials at East Coast Snocross (ECS) have announced a new partnership with Camso (formerly Camoplast), the worldwide leader in snowmobile tracks and ATV track systems.

“We’re extremely proud to have Camso join our group of marketing partners for what we feel is shaping up to be a fantastic 2016 season,” series owner Kurt Gagne said. “They represent high quality, and have supported sled racing of all kinds for many years. We’re honored to have their support and will be promoting Camso tracks to our fans throughout the season. We welcome them to our team.”

Camso serves the material handling, construction, agriculture and powersports industries by manufacturing and distributing off-road tires, wheels, rubber tracks and undercarriage systems. Camso is a customer-focused, world-class manufacturer and service supplier of high-performance products that meet the needs of the off-the-road vehicle market.

On the snowmobile side of operations, Camso precisely engineers its tracks to deliver exactly the kind of performance you’re looking for in your snowmobile. Every track they build is optimized for weight, traction, strength, flotation and even aerodynamics – not to mention affordability, longevity and sheer fun. Over 90% of all new snowmobiles made today are equipped with Camso tracks.

Bruce Dashnaw is Sales and Marketing Director for Powersports at Camso, and is based in Plattsburgh, New York. The plant in Plattsburgh employs roughly 180 people making tracks for snowmobiles and ATVs. Camso’s corporate offices are located in Magog, Quebec. “Camoplast is becoming Camso,” Dashnaw said. “It was important for us to communicate to our dealers and distributors that although we have changed the name of our company, we remain the same group of authentic and passionate Powersports enthusiasts committed to produce the same high-quality tracks snowmobilers have come to expect from our company for many years.

“Now, we want to reach out to race fans across the snowbelt, and ECS provides us with a direct connection with our customers in New England. We’re thrilled to be on board, and hope ECS fans will consider our products for their snowmobile and other off-road recreational needs.”

East Coast Snocross, presented by AMSOIL, Woody’s Traction and FXR, is an ISR-affiliated sanctioning body for snowmobile racing in the northeastern United States. ECS maintains a regional circuit intended to keep grass-roots snocross racing healthy in this part of the country, while also cultivating new talent fortomorrow’s factory-backed Pro teams.
