LOON MOUNTAIN RESORT HOSTS WHITE MOUNTAIN OKTOBERFEST
PRESENTED BY SAMUEL ADAMS OCTOBER 7-8
LINCOLN, NH (September 13, 2017) – White Mountain Oktoberfest, the region’s largest celebration of German food, drink, and music, will take place at Loon Mountain Resort during Columbus Day Weekend, Oct. 7-8, 2017.
Presented by Samuel Adams, White Mountain Oktoberfest will give visitors the chance to enjoy seasonal brews, bratwurst, and breathtaking fall foliage alongside friends old and new. An Oompah band will provide the soundtrack to two days of fun activities, including a stein-hoisting contest, keg toss, and pretzel toss – plus plenty of fun activities for kids.
White Mountain Oktoberfest begins at 11 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday, and admission to the festival is free. Visitors can share their White Mountain Oktoberfest experiences by tagging their photos #WMOktoberfest on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
WEEKEND ACTIVITIES
Indoor/Outdoor Beer Garden
Adults will enjoy a range of seasonal beers from Samuel Adams at an indoor/outdoor beer garden. In addition to sampling Samuel Adams classics like Oktoberfest and Harvest Hefe, guests can also try several limited-release brews from Samuel Adams’ Brewing the American Dream program, which provides microloans, coaching, and other resources to small, up-and-coming breweries. Shandies and ciders from Traveler Beer Co., Angry Orchard, and Truly Spiked & Sparkling will also be available.
Beer College with Samuel Adams
Students who enroll in this prestigious institution of hoppier learning will ride the Gondola to the summit of Loon Peak, where they’ll soak up beer knowledge from the professionals at Samuel Adams. They’ll taste and smell the fresh ingredients that make a good beer, learn brewing secrets, and even sample exclusive Samuel Adams brews that won’t be found on store shelves. The class costs $30 per person and enrollment is limited to 30 students, ages 21+. Sign up today at LoonMtn.com.
Live Music
The hills will be alive with the sound of Oompah! Guests will clap along and dance to the Eastern Sound Orchestra as they play polkas, waltzes, and other German-style favorites.
Fun & Games
White Mountain Oktoberfest wouldn’t be the same without a full lineup of fun games and activities for all ages. Adults ages 21+ will flex their forearms during the Samuel Adams Stein Hoisting contest, the Stein Carryin’, Keg Rollin’ Relay Race, and the weekend’s marquee event, the Keg Toss. Kids can also get in on the action with the Root Beer Keg Toss, Family Sack Race, and Partner Pretzel Toss. Kids will also enjoy activities like pumpkin painting and water balloon launching throughout the weekend.
Mountaintop Yoga
Load the Gondola Skyride and spend the morning at the summit of Loon Peak, where stunning views of the White Mountains in peak foliage will inspire a special hour-long yoga session. Sessions are offered at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday, and each session is limited to 30 participants. To reserve a spot, call 1-800-229-5666 x 5400.
