CLARKSBURG, Mass. (Jan. 3, 2019) – After months of training, athletes from around the northeast are preparing to compete as East Coast Snocross (ECS) kicks off the 2019 season on Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 12-13, at the Rochester Fairgrounds in Rochester, New Hampshire.
Spectator gates open at 10 a.m. each day. Tickets are $12 per day for adults or $20 for a weekend pass. Children age 7 and under are admitted free with a paying adult. Pit passes valid through the entire weekend are available for an extra $10.
Once again there are plenty of story lines to follow in 2019, led by the strong start Ski-doo has enjoyed in the first two weekends of racing on the ISOC national circuit. Through the first four rounds of competition in Duluth, MN and Jackson Hole, WY, the brand has dominated all but one (when Ryley Bester won in Pro Lite at Duluth) of eight races run thus far in the premiere Pro and Pro Lite classes.
Ski-doo riders here in the northeast will look to continue that hot streak starting in Rochester.
Leading the charge into Rochester is Pro racer Mike Pilotte, of Fall River, Massachusetts. Pilotte returns to Team Southside/Polaris after a strong 2018 season. Always a popular fan favorite and contender to win races, Pilotte brings passion, skills and a great personality to the sport of snocross.
Other fast riders to watch in ECS action at Rochester include the power trio of 2018 Pro Lite champion Dylan Roes, Dalton Jacquier and Tucker Kierstead (D&D Racing/Arctic Cat); and Vermont veteran Wade Acker (Team Southside/Polaris, a legitimate threat to win the Pro Lite championship).
Along with a full slate of action in Pro and Pro Lite, opening weekend in Rochester will also include some great action in the Sport, Women and Junior divisions. It takes support classes to fill out any card of racing, and the ECS series is blessed with strong participation across the board.
The season opener in Rochester will also feature a Trail Stock class for those looking to give snocross a try for the first time. This is where aggressive trail riders can test their skills in a safe environment. The weekend will also include races for children ages 6 to 10 on 120cc machines.
This year’s season opener is presented by Rochester Motorsports, a full-service powersports dealership launched back in 1999. Rochester Motorsports provides superior customer service and has a full team of professional sales members, finance experts, service technicians and parts staff.
Officials at ECS also welcome S.J. Cantwell Inc., Eastern Propane, Make A Difference Landscaping, Mooyah (Burgers, Fries, Shakes) and Johnson’s Seafood & Steak as supporting sponsors of our debut event in Rochester. We appreciate such wonderful local support in a new market area.
The East Coast Snocross series, presented by Woody’s Traction and FXR, is an ISR-affiliated sanctioning body for snowmobile racing in the northeastern United States. ECS maintains a regional circuit intended to keep grassroots snocross racing healthy in this part of the country, while also cultivating new talent for tomorrow’s factory-backed national Pro teams.
