Eastern Snocross Tour to compete at Oswego County Fairgrounds
Leading Ski-doo dealer Ingles Performance joins ESXT family
SALEM, N.H. (Dec. 10, 2019) — Officials of the new Eastern Snocross Tour (ESXT) have announced a well known venue in central New York, and a partnership with one of the nation’s most respected snowmobile dealers.
On Feb. 1-2, 2020, race teams will descend on the Oswego County Fairgrounds in Sandy Creek, New York. For the first time in series’ history, all of Saturday’s finals will be run “Under the Lights” to add a new and exciting twist for spectators. Night racing brings out the colors and speed of snocross.
“Our host group out in Oswego is putting a huge effort into preparing for this event,” ESXT general manager Shawn Longbook said. “They know what they need to do to make the event a success. We’ll have a purpose-built track there for Vintage classes, as well. This will be an exciting weekend.”
Officials also announced on Tuesday a partnership with award-winning powersports dealer Ingles Performance. Located in Phoenix, New York, Ingles Performance is a full-line BRP and Polaris dealer, carrying snowmobiles, watercraft, and All Terrain Vehicles.
Ingles Performance will provide two new Ski-doo snowmobiles for on-site use by ESXT officials during the 2020 season. With this partnership, Ski-doo is now the ‘Official Snowmobile’ of the Eastern Snocross Tour. Support from a major dealer and respected manufacturer is big for the series.
“We’re honored to have Ingles Performance join our family of partners for 2020,” Longbook added. “They are the biggest Ski-doo dealer in the east and have won numerous awards. They have a rich history of customer satisfaction, and of supporting snocross. We put great value in their support.”
Owners Mike and Robin Ingles started the business in 1981 as a motorcycle repair shop. The business grew rapidly, and the Ski-doo line was taken on in 1986. In 1996, the Sea-doo watercraft line was added and the dealership moved to its current location on Besaw Road. The Polaris line was added in 2000.
The Eastern Snocross Tour was formed by a handful of industry veterans in the fall of 2019. Led by owner Bruce Gaspardi Sr., a respected powersports dealer from western Massachusetts and longtime snocross supporter, the new series is striving to keep this sport alive here in the northeast.
With colder temperatures moving back into the region tonight and Wednesday, plans still call for practice this weekend at Winchester Speedpark. Teams around the northeast are anxious to hit the snow in advance of the ESXT season opener at Winchester on Jan 11-12, 2020.
