Cochran’s Ski Area –
Jay Peak – open with 36 Trails and 9 Lifts
An inch overnight with some more snow and mixed precip possible this afternoon. Although we may see some freezing rain carry over into the New Year, January 2nd is looking good with 4” of snow and cool temps in in the forecast.
Killington – open with 66 Trails and 16 Lifts
Mad River Glen – 35 Trails and 3 Lifts
There’s no denying that 2021 was a weird one, so it makes sense that it would fizzle out in such a lackluster fashion. Overnight the mountain sustained freezing drizzle accompanied by something the weather people call “freezing fog”, along with only a dusting of new snow that doesn’t add up to much. What originally was forecasted to be a weekend of snow has morphed into several days of warmer temperatures and a most unmentionable “R” word.
