Attractions in Franconia Notch State Park are open starting Friday, May 22nd, offering opportunities for outdoor recreation in the North Country.

Visitors can rent kayaks or pedal boats at Echo Lake and explore hiking trails ranging from easy to difficult. Camping is available at Lafayette Place Campground, which offers access to hiking, biking, fishing, and swimming.

The Flume Gorge is open daily from 9am to 5pm. This natural granite gorge extends 800 feet at the base of Mount Liberty, featuring towering moss-covered granite walls up to 90 feet high, cascading waterfalls, historic covered bridges, glacial pools, and boulders.

Echo Lake Beach is also open starting May 22nd from 9am to 5pm, providing a spot to relax by the spring-fed lake. Pedal boats or kayaks can be rented from the Lakeside General Store for exploring the water beyond the shore.

Overflow parking is limited in Franconia Notch State Park and busy trail head lots tend to fill up quickly. Overflow parking is located at the Aerial Tramway at Cannon Mountain (Exit 34B). A hiker shuttle is available on weekends and holiday Mondays from 8am-7pm for $5 per person (round trip).

The Lafayette Place Campground is nestled in the heart of Franconia Notch State Park, offering easy access to all the attractions the White Mountains have to offer.

Please note that the Aerial Tramway is closed for the 2026 Summer season. Multi-Mountain Season Pass deadlines are May 31st. The White Mountain Superpass provides unlimited skiing and riding for the 26/27 season at Cannon, Bretton Woods, Waterville Valley, and Cranmore. Adult passes purchased on or before May 31 through Cannon will receive one free buddy ticket to Cannon.

The Bold & Beautiful Pass is valid Monday-Friday with blackout dates at Cannon and Bretton Woods. This pass is also available for purchase on or before May 31 through Cannon, including a free ticket to Cannon.

Upcoming events include the Cirque Series starting Saturday, June 13th at Cannon, featuring routes including the Kinsman Ridge Trail. The White Mountains Triathlon will take place on Saturday, June, with competitors swimming in Echo Lake, biking through Franconia, and running along the Bike Path.
