ABOUT ATTITASH
Attitash, located on Route 302 in Bartlett, New Hampshire, is a bit of the old and bit of the new. The resort is spread across two peaks – Attitash, featuring the classic style of hand cut trails that wind their way down the fall line and the newer Bear Peak, expanded in the 90′s, with wider and more direct down the fall line trails and the majority of the marked glades. The two peaks are connected by a shuttle and crossover trails.
The resort has a superpipe and terrain park on the Attitash side. Trails of note at Attitash are Ptarmigan, which drops off the summit and has a sustained steep pitch. Northwest Passage is a good cruiser for intermediates off the summit, as is Ammonoosuc. Bear Peak’s signature trail is Illusion.
Bear peak is serviced by a high-speed quad to the summit and is a good place to park if you don’t need services and just want to get your ticket and hit the hill. The Abenaki Quad is your best bet to ski or ride the trees; its lift line is a good natural trail as well. The Attitash Grand Summit Hotel & Conference Center is also located at Bear Peak. Attitash has 2 high-speed quads among their 12 lifts serving 70 trails. The summit lift to the top of Attitash is a fixed-grip triple that takes about 12 minutes to get to the top of the 1,750 feet of vertical. Many gripe about the lift, but many more trails would need to be cut to accommodate a high-speed lift. It’s a trade-off as these summit trails stay in good shape due to less skier traffic.Being in the Mount Washington Valley means there is plenty to do at night or on a bad weather day.
