As the long weekend approaches, visitors to Franconia Notch State Park and the surrounding area have several attractions available. While the weather may be hot elsewhere, the Notch offers a cooler escape.
Parking and shuttle services for hikers are limited at the trailheads. Overflow parking is located at the Aerial Tramway base at Cannon Mountain (Exit 34B). The Hiker Shuttle is available on weekends and holiday Mondays from 8am to 7pm, costing $5 per person for a round trip. Well-behaved dogs are welcome and ride for free.
The Flume Gorge is open daily from 9am to 5:30pm. This natural granite gorge extends 800 feet at the base of Mount Liberty, featuring towering moss-covered granite walls up to 90 feet high, cascading waterfalls, historic covered bridges, glacial pools, and boulders.
Saddleback Mountain is back for summer adventures. Starting Friday, July 3 at 10 AM, the Rangeley Express Quad is spinning for Scenic Lift Rides, and the South Branch Quad is serving up lift-accessed mountain biking.
Visitors can make the most of their time with the $45 Endless Summer Pass, which includes unlimited scenic lift rides and unlimited Mountain Bike Park access all season long.
The Saddleback Mountain Bike Park opens on Friday, July 3. This offers trails for everyone, from first timers to seasoned riders.
The fun continues on Sunday, July 5, with the return of The Summer Sunday Brunch Series at The Nest. Visitors can enjoy brunch and soak in the views at 3,620′.

Activities include Crafting Workshops on Wednesday, Guided Cascades Waterfall Hikes, Movie Nights, Arcade Fun, Dart Night on Thursday, building Fairy Houses and S’mores & Campfire Night on Friday, a Guided Pup Hike and Nature Adventure on Saturday, and Animal Encounters during the Animal Encounter Series on Sunday.
The weekly programming also includes daily scavenger hunts, flower & leaf collecting adventures, lawn games in Town Square, live music, shopping, dining, and much more. Lost Valley is hosting several community events this Friday, June 19th, including a USA vs Australia Soccer Viewing Party and the Michelob Ultra Soccer Shootout Tournament.
Doors open at 2:15 PM for the USA Soccer Viewing Party, with the game starting at 3:00 PM. Attendees can enjoy the match while watching on two 12-foot outdoor screens and enjoying Michelob Ultra specials.
The Michelob Ultra Soccer Shootout Tournament also begins at 3:00 PM. Participants can compete in fun soccer challenges for prizes throughout the day, with one standout player taking home the GRAND PRIZE of $1,800 travel voucher, exclusive Michelob Ultra merchandise, and tickets for a match at Gillette Stadium on June 29th.
In addition to these events, Lost Valley continues to offer outdoor activities. The Trails in the Valley Run/Hike/Walk meets every Friday, with runs departing at 6:00 PM.
