Alan Wickstrom Appointed General Manager of Ragged Mountain

Lost Valley Skiing Summer Events and Concert Series

The Mountain Ops Crew is working on Snowmaking Upgrades and keeping the grounds looking sweet. The Kitchen Crew is killing it with the new brewpub & catering menus, and the Bar & Serving team are pumping out incredible service at weekly events.

Upcoming events include the Matt Closson Memorial Concert & Phundraiser on Friday, July 24th, starting at 4pm and 6:30pm. This event features the Farmhouse Project & Phriends taking to the Dirigo FCU stage, with Pinky D’s Food Truck Onsite at 5:30pm. The Matt Closson Memorial Scholarship benefits an Edward Little High Senior and is in memory of Matthew Closson.

The Kona Big Wave Concert Series runs from June 19th to September 4th. Events are held every Friday at Lost Valley in Auburn for the Kona Big Wave Summer Concert Series. Doors open at 4pm, with music starting at 6:30pm. The series features Kona Big Wave and other favorites, select cocktails, ciders, and seltzers from the outdoor bar, plus full bar offerings inside. Weekly rotating food trucks are on site each week, and sit-down dining is available in Lost Valley’s Pub.

Sugarloaf Bike Park Summer Update

Bike Park Manager Adam Craig provides an update on the ongoing work and planned activities at Sugarloaf Bike Park this summer. The team has been focused on reworking existing flow trails, involving extensive hand work over eight weeks to improve the experience for riders. They have also made specific adjustments to berms and corners across the park to enhance the riding experience.

In addition to trail maintenance, the park is actively developing new features. Progress is being made on the lower section of the Tiger Eye construction, with plans to complete upper sections later in the season. The goal is to create a diverse range of terrain, including wood and rock features, to challenge riders of all abilities.

Sugarloaf Bike Park also offers various programming throughout the summer, including youth gravity camps for riders aged 7 to 14, women’s clinic weekends, and participation in a grassroots Enduro race series involving other Maine destinations like Mount Abram. The park continues to focus on adding new terrain and welcoming a wide variety of riders.

Cool New Hampshire Weekend: Hiking and Attractions in Franconia Notch

Heading to the Franconia Notch this weekend, expect comfortable temperatures ideal for hiking and exploring the park. Pack an extra layer or raincoat just in case and enjoy a cool New Hampshire weekend in July.

Hiker overflow parking and shuttle services are available in Franconia Notch State Park, as peak hiking season sees limited parking at trail head lots. Overflow parking is located at the Aerial Tramway base at Cannon Mountain (Exit 34B). The Hiker Shuttle is available on weekends and holiday Mondays from 8am-7pm, and it costs $5 per person for a round trip. Well-behaved dogs are welcome and ride for free.

The Flume Gorge is open daily from 9am to 5:30pm. This natural granite gorge extends 800 feet at the base of Mount Liberty, featuring towering moss-covered granite walls rising to a height of 90 feet, cascading waterfalls, historic covered bridges, glacial pools, and glacial boulders. Hours have been extended to 5:30pm for the summer.
