Cameron, Bell split Pro finals at Young View Farms for Rock Maple Racing
Young sweeps Semi-Pro classes on home turf in Vermont

WEST GLOVER, Vermont (Feb. 28, 2021) — Veteran snowmobile racers Matt Cameron and Heath Bell split the Pro finals in Vermont this weekend, as Rock Maple Racing (RMR) completed Round 3 of its 2021 Cross Country snowmobile racing schedule on Saturday at Young View Farms. 

Cameron, of Palmerton, Pennsylvania, powered his Arctic Cat to victory in Pro Open over Bell and Oswego, New York’s Kenny Murphy. Despite limited visibility from mixed precipitation that fell all day long, Cameron held a 45-second advantage over Bell as he crossed the stripe after five laps. 

Bell, of New Gloucester, Maine, capped a solid day on his Ski-doo by outgunning Cameron in Pro Stock. In a grueling, 12-lap battle, Bell carried an impressive 18-second margin of victory to the line, while Murphy capped a strong outing with another podium finish. 

In Semi-Pro action, local favorite Brock Young made it a clean sweep in his own backyard. The skilled athlete and proud West Glover native held off Ski-doo riders Todd Smith (Derry, N.H.) and Aaron Shelton (Walton, NY) for top honors in Semi-Pro Improved. In the Stock class, Young outran Shelton and Pownal, Maine’s Bailey Slocum for top honors.

Herfindahl sweeps Pro finals at Young View Farms for Rock Maple Racing
Brock Young sweeps Semi-Pro on home turf

WEST GLOVER, Vermont (Feb. 15, 2021) — Wisconsin native and national cross country star Zach Herfindahl made the long haul from the Dairy State pay off, sweeping the Pro finals on Saturday as Rock Maple Racing (RMR) completed Round 2 on their 2021 schedule at Young View Farms. 

Herfindahl, of Eagle River, powered his Arctic Cat to victory in Pro Open by a whopping 55 second margin over runner-up Matt Cameron. Maine’s Heath Bell filled out the podium in third, crossing the stripe 19 seconds behind Cameron. Herfindahl was truly in a class of his own in Vermont.

In Pro Factory Stock, Herfindahl outgunned New York veteran Kenny Murphy for top honors in a grueling, 20-lap contest. Dylan Thompson crossed the stripe in third with a solid performance. With a well-prepared five-mile course, the Pro riders had plenty of room to squeeze the throttle on Saturday.

Shelton sweeps Semi-Pro classes in delayed season opener

GREIG, New York (Jan. 31, 2021) — Veteran snowmobile racers Heath Bell and Matt Cameron split the Pro finals over the weekend, as Rock Maple Racing (RMR) opened its 2021 cross country racing season on Saturday at High Voltage MX in Greig, New York. 

Bell, of New Gloucester, Maine, powered his way to victory in the Pro Stock final, with Luke Vaadi (Mannsville, NY) and Dylan Thompson (Lincoln, ME) filling out the podium in second and third. Arctic Cat riders Kenny Murphy (Oswego, NY) and Cameron rounded out the top five. 

Cameron, of Palmerton, PA, started his day by outrunning Bell to claim the Pro Open final. Vaadi capped a solid outing with a third-place finish, with Thompson and Murphy completing the top five. Scott Preston, of Rochester, finished sixth and also won the Pro Am Plus 40 final. 

In Semi-Pro action, Aaron Shelton (Walton, NY) swept the top spots with a brilliant effort. In the Stock class, he held off former snocross regular Austin Kodey (Endicott, NY) and Logan Neill (Hornell, NY) for top honors. In the Improved class, Brock Young (West Glover, VT) claimed second while New Hampshire’s Eric Gleich (Boscawen) filled out the podium in third.
