Cockaigne is a historic ski-area destination in Cherry Creek, New York. The current Cockaigne Resort venue website identifies the same Thornton Road location as Northeast Snow’s earlier ski-area listing.

According to the resort’s history page, skiing began there in winter 1966. Its original lodge had served as the Austrian Pavilion at New York’s 1964 World’s Fair before being moved to Cockaigne. A 2011 fire destroyed that lodge; the venue dates the replacement building to 2018.

The website reviewed in October 2026 promotes weddings and other events. It does not establish current ski operations. Treat the former ski listing as destination background and confirm any proposed winter visit with the venue.
