In an October 6, 2026 announcement, Loon Mountain Resort proposed a fourth peak with 280 acres of skiing: 145 acres of traditional trails and 135 acres of tree skiing. The plan includes four aerial lifts, a summit lodge and a mid-mountain lodge.

Loon said the U.S. Forest Service had accepted the proposal for review. That is a step in the review process; the project still requires an Environmental Assessment and other local and federal permits and approvals.

The resort said those approvals were needed before it could announce construction timelines. The announcement describes proposed development, with no opening date set.
