New England Race Weekend Preview: November 7–8, 2026
A preseason planning edition: find an alpine or snowboard race program, check regional schedules and prepare for the first training weekends.
Before the first gate drops
This opening edition is a preseason planning guide for the November 7–8 weekend. It highlights official program and calendar information rather than presenting a confirmed race slate for that weekend. Alpine and snowboard racers can use the time to choose a training pathway and check the requirements for their discipline.
Maine: alpine and snowboard training at Sunday River
Sunday River's Gould Academy Competition Program lists November 28, 2026 as the start for its alpine and snowboard tracks. The alpine track includes slalom, giant slalom, super-G and downhill. The snowboard track includes GS and SL alongside rail jam and slopestyle. These are program training dates, not race entries; check the appropriate track before registering.
New Hampshire: check your age-group program
Bretton Woods lists November 29 as the beginning of its 2026–27 race-team schedule. Its age-group descriptions explain the different training commitments and progression into NHARA and U.S. Ski & Snowboard racing. NHARA's racing pages provide the wider competition structure; verify individual race notices as preliminary calendars develop.
Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island: choose your pathway
Tri-State's athlete resources link its 2026–27 interclub and age-group schedules and explain the newcomer pathway. Connecticut's Ski Sundown offers Race Team Development for intermediate skiers as well as a competitive ski team. Its development page lists December 27, 2026 as the registration deadline. Massachusetts options in our directory include Berkshire East and Ski Ward. Rhode Island readers can start with the regional resources; those listings do not imply a local race venue.
Vermont: match the program to your racing experience
Stratton's SWSC Alpine VARA Team describes a competitive U10–U18 pathway with two-day and three-day options. Its younger entry groups have prior racing experience requirements. For snowboard racing, Green Mountain Academy's competition guide explains USASA GS and slalom and the role of out-of-series events. Ask the coach about the specific racing track and travel commitments.
Snowboard cross and ski cross: use current series notices
The USASA New Hampshire and Southern New England series publish boardercross and ski cross updates. Their public archives are useful starting points, but a previous season's results or schedule is not confirmation of a new race date. Check the event season, discipline, entry rules and latest organizer notice before making plans.
