Sunday River, a premier ski and snowboard resort located in western Maine, is providing an update on their snowmaking operations as they prepare for the upcoming season. The resort is known for its commitment to award-winning snowmaking and grooming across its eight interconnected peaks and 139 trails.
Director of snow services Thomas Budd joined us to discuss the department's recent efforts. The team has been actively working to create snow, utilizing over 6,000 gallons a minute from 225 guns spread throughout the resort. This work has focused on creating and protecting paths on areas like T2 and Jordan 8.
The team is pushing hard to add necessary snow coverage before temperatures begin to warm up. They are committed to making snow and will continue to push for more runs over the next 48 hours to ensure the resort is ready for visitors.
